The apex body of the Institute is a Governing Board which consists of 19 members including a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Member-Secretary. While the Chairman and Vice-Chairman are elected by the Board amongst its members, the Director of the Institute is designated as ex-officio Member-Secretary of the Board. The members of the Board include two representatives of the Indian Council of Social Science Research; three senior administrators nominated by the Government of Rajasthan; two Vice Chancellors; eminent academics, social scientists; eminent persons specialising in various fields related to development; and two members of the faculty of the Institute.
